Crispy fried fritters made using bread is a quick recipe for you to try. To make Bread Vada simply make a mixture of some bread pieces onion green chillies curry leaves ginger peanuts cumin seeds salt rice flour yogurt and baking soda.
Then shape it into balls to deep fry till crispy. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
These vadas make for a wonderful snack that kids and adults enjoy alike. So next time when you have some bread simply make bread vada.
BREAD VADA - (Serves - 4)
Ingredients
6 white bread slices edges trimmed and cut into small pieces
Oil for deep-frying
1 medium onion finely chopped
2 green chillies finely chopped
4-5 curry leaves roughly chopped
½ inch ginger grated
2 tablespoons roasted peanuts coarsely crushed
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
Salt to taste
3 tablespoons rice four
¼ cup yogurt
A pinch of baking soda
Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
Tomato ketchup for serving
Method
1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
2. Take bread pieces in a bowl. Add onion green chillies curry leaves ginger peanuts cumin seeds salt rice flour yogurt and baking soda and mix till well combined.
3. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into balls.
4. Deep-fry the balls in hot oil till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
5. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
