Kapil Dev's biopic film which is based on the historic World Cup Win of 1983 had Randeep Hooda in the main lead but was removed due to Ranveer Singh. This film was initially offered to Randeep and his firs look test was also done and the same news was officially announced ad was to be directed by Sanjay Pooran Singh. But due to some circumstances, Sanjay couldn't direct this film '83' and it was passed on to Kabir Singh. Now, when the director got changed he picked his desired actor in the main lead. Kabir was very much attracted to Ranveer Singh specially after the blockbuster success of Simmba and he being one of the main charmer. So, while Ranveer is all into his first Biopic film, Randeep on the other hand is shooting for Imtiaz Ali's next film 'Aaj Kal'.
