Dahi vade ka vratwala judwaa … This is a simple upwas vala preparation of our traditional dahi vadas.
VRAT KE DAHI VADE
Ingredients
1½ cups cooked banyard millet (samo)
Oil for deep frying
2 medium potatoes boiled and peeled
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 tsps ginger-green chilli paste
Rock salt to taste
Thin buttermilk as required
Sweetened yogurt as required
Red chilli powder to sprinkle
Roasted cumin powder to sprinkle
Chopped fresh coriander leaves to sprinkle
Method
1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
2. Take banyard millet in a bowl. Grate potatoes directly in the bowl.
3. Add cumin seeds ginger-green chilli paste rock salt and mix well.
4. Divide the mixture into equal portions and roll into balls.
5. Slide into hot oil and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain and add to the buttermilk and set aside for 5 minutes.
6. Squeeze excess moisture and transfer in a serving plate. Drizzle sweetened yogurt on top.
7. Sprinkle red chilli powder roasted cumin powder and coriander on top.
8. Serve immediately.
