At the trailer launch of his film ?Veerappan?, Varma had said that he loved Kashyap but Kashyap hated him. Asked about it at a special screening of Kannada film ?Thithi?, Kashyap said: ?Oh! That he thinks. I love him as much as he loves me. I actually love him more.? Varma had also said that there was no cold war between them, but it was always a ?hot war? and that Kashyap hated all of his films but he liked some of his work.
