Audiences generally take to Anurag Kashyap films like fish takes to water, but such is not the case with his latest release Bombay Velvet starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar. Not only has the film met with average to bad critic reviews, the viewers too haven?t quite appreciated Anurag Kashyap?s tale of Bombay from the 60s. The failure of Bombay Velvet can be seen in the Box office figures. The film made Rs 5.20 crore on its opening day and on Day 2 which was yesterday the film only managed to rake in Rs 5.10 crore.
