Director Hansal Mehta???s Aligarh is one of the most path breaking films in recent times. The Rajkumar Rao and Manoj Bajpayee starrer biographical drama is based on Dr. Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras who was suspended from the Aligarh Muslim University on grounds of his sexual orientation. Bajpayee plays the central character. The film is getting rave reviews from all over the country but seems like a section of society is not happy with the film. A section of intellectuals at Aligarh are unhappy that the film, based on a gay relationship of a professor, has been titled Aligarh.
