BREAD UPMA
Ingredients
8 pavs, broken into pieces
2-3 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
¼ teaspoon asafoetida (hing)
16-20 curry leaves
2 green chillies, cut into pieces
2 medium onions, finely chopped
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
½ teaspoon sugar
Fresh coriander sprig for garnishing
Method
1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add cumin seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, green chillies and onions. Mix and sauté till onions turn translucent.
2. Add turmeric powder, salt and sugar and mix well. Add ¼ cup water and stir.
3. Add pav pieces, mix well, cover and cook for 5 minutes.
4. Garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
