Marinated fish fingers dipped coated with bread crumbs and deep fried a popular starter.
FISH STICKS - (Serves - 4)
Ingredients
250 grams boneless white fish fillets cut into fingers
Oil for deep-frying
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt to taste
½ cup idli rawa
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 egg
Tartar sauce
¼ cup mayonnaise
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
1 teaspoon chopped pickled jalapenos
1 teaspoon chopped capers
1 teaspoon chopped gherkins
1 teaspoon chopped pickled onions
Salt to taste
Method
1. Heat sufficient oil in a pan.
2. Take fish in a bowl. Add ginger-garlic paste lemon juice and salt and mix well.
3. Spread idli rawa on a plate. Add chilli powder and salt and mix well.
4. Break an egg in another bowl and whisk well.
5. Dip each marinated fish fingers in egg coat with idli rawa mixture and transfer on another plate.
6. Deep-fry prepared fish fingers in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
7. To prepare tartar sauce combine mayonnaise crushed peppercorns jalapenos capers gherkins pickled onion and salt in another bowl and mix well.
8. Serve hot with tartar sauce.
