Shaandaar was made with a belief that it will give a similar outcome. Hence, a dashing jodi of Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor were added to the mix and was promoted as a Hindi film that broaches the topic of destination wedding. The film looked so glossy that the trade was very positive about the film. In fact, they were ready with the approximate weekend collection for the film which was estimated to be somewhere near 45 crore. For a film approximately made on a budget of 60 crore, 45 crore opening weekend collection seems like the perfect way to assert itself but you can?t always fool the audience. The shine brought the audience to the theatre on its first day which was also a holiday and the collections were impressive. But the moment it wore off, it started reflecting in the collections. The drop that started from Saturday continued till its first Monday which brought in a mere 2.5 crore.
