BUTTER SEV
Ingredients
¼ cup butter
1½-2 cups gram flour
Oil for deep-frying + for greasing
Salt to taste
½ teaspoon asafoetida
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
Method
1. Grease a chakli press attached with sev attachment with some oil.
2. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
3. Combine gram flour, salt, asafoetida, turmeric powder, cumin powder and coriander powder in a bowl.
4. Melt the butter in a microwave, add to flour mixture alongwith some water and knead into a stiff dough.
5. Grease your palms with some oil and fill in the greased chakli press with some prepared dough.
6. Press the dough strips out into hot oil and deep-fry on low heat till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. Cool.
7. Serve or store in an airtight container.
Preparation Time: 8-10 minutes
Cooking Time: 10-12 minutes
