A Flying Jatt | Full Movie | Tiger Shroff, Jacqueline Fernandez | Review

Back when the teaser of A Flying Jatt released we couldn’t get over all the tackiness on display. Then the trailer released and our cynical hearts melted on seeing poor Tiger bumbling and fumbling his way through the film. And now that the entire movie has released, what we are feeling is kind of a mixture of those two reactions. A Flying Jatt tells the tale of a young Punjabi munda named Aman who is a veritable klutz when he’s not busy being a superhero. Oppressed by is mom, our Clark Kent’s day job involves teaching martial arts to kids and falling in love with Jacqueline Fernandez. The big bad baddie in the film is of course Kay Kay Menon who is out to destroy the world with pollution. No he does not have gastric issues but he does have Nathan Jones who is the personification of pollution. The guy literally feeds off bad air and falls ill when exposed to a clear environment, much like every person who has lived in Mumbai for more than a year. What follows is a fairly good vs evil tale filled with dollops of ‘inspired’ ideas and tacky execution. Director Remo D’Souza manages to get the first half of the film right with all the humour but the second half gets too heavy handed. The film suddenly starts taking itself too serious and the audience doesn’t. Tiger Shroff seems right at home playing an adorable, bumbling young fool and maybe this should give him a clue about the kind of roles he should pursue until he manages to grow some acting chops. And boy can he dance! Jacqueline Fernandez looks ravishing as ever and makes for a good leading lady. Amrita Singh as the typical Punjabi mom is at her best while Nathan Jones manages to bore the hell out of us. Overall, A Flying Jatt is no Superman or Spiderman, it is barely even a Krrish. But Tiger shows promise even if the film doesn’t. We shall go with two stars for this film. For more info watch this video...
