BEANS AND PANEER PORIYAL
Ingredients
250 grams French beans, cut into ¼ inch pieces
200 grams cottage cheese, cut into ¼ inch cubes
2-3 tablespoons oil
½ teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon split black gram skinless
A pinch asafoetida
2 dried red chillies, broken
8-10 curry leaves
Salt to taste
¼ cup coconut, scraped
Method
1. Heat the oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and split black gram and sauté till the grams turn light brown.
2. Add asafoetida and red chillies and sauté for half a minute.
3. Add French beans, curry leaves and salt. Add half the coconut and mix well.
4. Cover and cook on medium heat for five minutes. Add cottage cheese and toss well.
5. Garnish with the remaining coconut and serve hot as a side dish.
