Booked under possession of illegal weapons as well as destruction of evidence under the Arms Act in the 1993 Mumbai blasts, Sanjay Dutt has been serving his jail sentence since 2013. Though the actor is currently out on a 30-day parole, but he will have to return to the Yerwada Jail to complete his remaining jail term. However back in 2013, Supreme Court Judge Markandey Katju had made an impassioned plea seeking pardon for Dutt. He had even written letters to the President, then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde after a discussion with noted criminal lawyer Majid Memon among others. Now exactly two and a half years after the plea was been filed, Maharashtra Governor Ch.Vidyasagar Rao has given his verdict! And he has rejected the appeal. Yes!
