CHICKEN AND DRUMSTICK CURRY WITH CURD
Ingredients
750 gms chicken, cut into 8-10 pieces on the bone
3 drumsticks, scraped and cut into 2 inch pieces, blanched with turmeric powder and salt
1 cup thick curd
Salt to taste
¼ tsp turmeric powder
2 tbsps oil
5-6 cloves
1 medium onion, finely chopped
10-12 shallots
12-15 curry leaves
2 tbsps ginger-garlic paste
2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
1 tbsp coriander powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
Method
1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cloves, curry leaves, onion and ginger-garlic paste and sauté for half a minute. Add shallots and sauté till lightly browned. Add chicken, tomatoes and salt and mix well. Cover and cook till the tomatoes are soft. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder, garam masala powder and mix well.
2. Whisk curd in a bowl.
3. Add curd to the pan and mix well. Cover and cook for 5-6 minutes.
4. Add drumsticks and mix well. Cover and cook till the drumsticks and chicken are completely cooked.
