Ingredients
2 cups gram flour
1 teaspoon papad khar
ΒΌ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 teaspoon carom seeds
Salt to taste
3 tablespoons oil + for greasing
Method
1. Combine gram flour, papadkhar, turmeric powder, chilli powder, carom seeds, salt and oil in a bowl and mix well. Add sufficient water and knead into a soft dough for 5 minutes.
2. Transfer the dough onto a worktop and knead well. Transfer into a bowl, cover with damp muslin cloth and set aside for 30 minutes. Divide the dough into small portions.
3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
4. Grease the worktop with some oil, shape the portions into cylindersand stretch into long strips using your palm.Scrape out the excessusing a knife and deep-fry each strip in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
5. Serve.
Preparation Time: 40-45 minutes
Cooking Time: 3-5 minutes
