WALNUT AND CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE
Ingredients
¼ cup walnuts
¼ cup chocolate chips
1 cup butter + for greasing
1 cup refined flour + for dusting and as required
1 cup castor sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Milk as required
Method
1. Preheat oven at 180ºC. Grease a baking tin with some butter and dust some refined flour.
2. Roughly chop butter.
3. Cream together chopped butter and castor sugar in a bowl. Add eggs and whisk well. Add vanilla essence and whisk again.
4. Sieve refined flour and baking powder in the butter-sugar mixture.
5. Roughly chop walnuts, add some refined flour and mix. Add chopped walnuts and chocolate chips to the butter-sugar mixture and fold gently. Add some milk and fold again.
6. Put the prepared batter in the greased baking tin, spread evenly and tap. Place the baking tin in a baking tray, put the tray in preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.
7. Demould and serve.
Preparation time: 15-20 minutes
Cooking Time: 25-30 minutes
