MASALA DAL PURI
Ingredients
½ cup Tata Sampann Toor Dal
Salt to taste
¾ tsp roasted cumin powder
½ inch ginger piece
2 green chillies
1¼ cups khapli atta
1 tbsp ghee
¼ tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
Oil for deep frying
Yogurt to serve
Method
1. Wash Tata Sampann Toor Dal with sufficient water. Soak drain and boil till cooked.
2. Transfer the cooker gram in a blender jar add salt roasted cumin powder ginger piece and green chillies and blend. Add ¼ cup water and blend to a fine paste.
3. Transfer the gram paste in a large bowl add khapli atta and mix well. Add ghee adjust salt and ajwain and knead to a stiff dough.
4. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
5. Divide the dough into small portions and shape each into a ball and slightly flatten them.
6. Grease the work top with a little oil and roll each dough portion into small thick discs. Drop them into the hot oil one at a time and deep fry till they turn golden brown and puff up. Drain on an absorbent paper.
7. Serve hot with yogurt.
