Here's a wonderful way to add a #WinterKaTadka to your everyday routine. Simply make this effortless flavourful Pulao loaded with Toovar Dana! Pack it in your tiffin or enjoy at home either way mein satisfaction hai guaranteed!
TOOVAR DANA PULAO
Ingredients
1 cup fresh pigeon peas (toovar dana)
1½ cups Basmati rice soaked for 30 minutes and drained
2 tbsps ghee
1 ½ tsps cumin seeds
3 green cardamoms
1 star anise
4 cloves
1 large onion sliced
1 tbsp ginger-green chilli paste
1 cup fresh pigeon peas (toovar dana)
¼ tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Chopped fresh coriander leaves to sprinkle
Roasted papad to serve
Raita to serve
Method
1. Heat ghee in a nonstick pan. Add cumin seeds and once they start to change the colour add green cardamoms star anise cloves and sauté till fragrant.
2. Add onion and sauté till translucent.
3. Add ginger-green chilli paste and sauté for 2 minutes.
4. Add toovar dana and mix well. Add turmeric powder and mix well.
5. Add rice salt and mix well.
6. Add 2½ cups hot water cover and cook for 10-15 minutes.
7. Transfer in a serving plate sprinkle coriander and serve hot with papad and raita.
