FRIED EGG SANDWICH
Ingredients
4 eggs
8 white bread slices
1 large onion, sliced
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons butter + for spreading
Salt to taste
Olive oil as required
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
Cheese spread as required
Dijon mustard as required
Few iceberg lettuce leaves
1 medium tomato, cut into roundels
4 cheese slices
French fries for serving
Tomato ketchup for serving
Method
1. Heat a non-stick pan. Add onion and sugar and sauté till the onion turns translucent. Add 2 teaspoons butter and sauté till the onion caramelizes. Add salt and sauté for 1 minute.
2. To prepare one fried egg, heat a non-stick pan and brush some olive oil. Break an egg, sprinkle salt and crushed peppercorns on top and cook from both sides till the egg is done.
3. To prepare one sandwich, spread some butter on one side of two bread slice. Apply some cheese spread on one side of the bread slices, Dijon mustard on the other side and spread them together.
4. Arrange few iceberg lettuce leaves, tomato roundels on one prepared bread slice. Sprinkle some salt and crushed peppercorns, place one fried egg, some caramelized onion, one cheese slice and cover with another bread slice with spread side downwards.
5. Cut into triangles and serve immediately with French fries and tomato ketchup.
